Essentials of TEVAR:
Contemporary Techniques for Thoracic Aortic Disease

DESCRIPTION

This course will provide attendees with peer-to-peer education on the fundamentals of contemporary techniques for patients suffering from various diseases of the thoracic and thoraco-abdominal aorta, including treatment options, patient selection criteria, and best clinical practices.
Hands-on experience on TEVAR demos, case reviews, and discussions will supplement the theoretical part of the course.

TARGET

This course is designed for physicians and specialists wishing to expand their knowledge in the treatment of thoracic and thoraco-abdominal aorta, in particular:

  • Vascular surgeons
  • Interventional radiologists
  • Interventional cardiologists
  • Fellows and Residents
  • Biomedical engineers
  • Product specialists

OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the treatment options for thoracic aortic diseases
  • Understand the procedural steps of thoracic stent-graft implantation
  • Understand proper patient selection criteria and sizing for thoracic stent-graft
  • Understand access challenges, spinal drain, and spinal cord prevention for TEVAR
  • Practice TEVAR procedural steps and stent-graft implantation on demos

CME - Continuing Medical Education

The course will be accredited by the Italian Ministry of Health for Vascular, Thoracic, Cardiac, General Surgeons and Interventional Radiologists.
A certificate of attendance will be also provided.

in-INNOVATION CHALLENGE

At the end of the scientific program, the audience will vote for the best innovative young scientific communication for Interventional Radiology, the best innovative young scientific communication for Endovascular Therapy, the 2022-23 best innovative Italian paper for Interventional Radiology, the 2022-23 best innovative Italian paper for Endovascular Therapy, selected and proposed by 3 experts for each competition. The best 4 “innovators” will be awarded at the end of the in-congress (see in-innovation challenge rules and summary table of in-innovation challenge).

in-SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM

The in-scientific program has been planned to collect and spread the most recent innovations. Technological innovations, clinical innovations, novel applications of conventional techniques will be highlighted and discussed by a highly qualified faculty composed of the best Italian interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons. The program includes 14 scientific in-sessions, 6 in-key honorary lectures of European leaders in Interventional Radiology and Vascular Surgery, 2 industry focuses. The congress will last two days, the first dedicated to Interventional Radiology, the second to Endovascular Therapy (see in-session modalities, recommendations, for moderators/speakers/discussants and slides preparation).
